Our story

Yad B'Yad (Hand in Hand) Association was founded in 1982 by Shelly Hoshen, a Holocaust survivor from Bulgaria, with the mission of creating equal opportunities in an unequal world. Through strengthening social cohesion and solidarity, the association helps disadvantaged populations—especially children and young adults—realize their full potential.

Thanks to its impactful work, Yad B’Yad and its founder, Shelly Houshen, have received numerous prestigious awards, including: The President’s Volunteer Award (2003), A Certificate of Appreciation from the Prime Minister’s Office, The Volunteer Award from the Israeli Knesset and more.
